Tarasenko Requires Further Surgery, Will Miss Start of Next Season

Vladimir Tarasenko will require another shoulder surgery next week and will not be re-evaluated for five months.

Unfortunately,  Vladimir Tarasenko’s injury prognosis is not good and the St. Louis Blues forward will require a third surgery procedure that will keep him out for up to five months and out of the Blues lineup to start next season.

Tarasenko left the Blues during their playoff run this season and was sent back to St. Louis for evaluation on his shoulder. It is now being reported he’ll require another shoulder surgery next week and will not be re-evaluated for five months.

Tarasenko had shoulder surgery last October and was limited to only 10 games this season as a result. He attempted to make a comeback in the playoffs while in the Edmonton bubble but returned to St. Louis after only four games. The Blues were eventually ousted from the postseason by the Vancouver Canucks.

The bigger concern now is that Tarasenko will ever make a return and if he does, at what level of play. A multiple-time 30-plus goal scorer in the NHL, he has two seasons remaining on a $7.5 million cap hit per season deal.
