Golden Knights Strong Third Period Too Much For Dallas Stars

Will Carrier scored the game-winner with 5:12 left in the third and on the heels of three unanswered tallies to bring the Golden Knights back from a two goal defect. Robin Lehner had 24 saves and the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Dallas Stars 5-3 in Western Conference round-robin play on Monday.

Chandler Stephenson, Mark Stone, Nate Schmidt and William Karlsson also scored for the Knights.

Joe Pavelski, Jamie Oleksiak and Corey Perry scored for Dallas in the game, while Ben Bishop had 28 saves in the loss.

Tbe Golden Knights opened the scoring early on a tipped shot that the goaltender would have liked to have back. They kept the lead until later in the second when the Dallas Stars scored two goals 42 seconds apart and started to put the pressure on. The Stars had been physical and were out-shooting the Golden Knights by a margin of 17-11 midway through the game.

The Golden Knights had a huge third period, scoring four goals in less than 10 minutes. sealing the win in the round-robin seeding game.
