Game Notes:

With the series tied 1-1, this third contest between the Arizona Coyotes and Nashville Predator was critical. Going up 2-1 in a best-of-five puts the other team in an elimination situation and now the Arizona Coyotes find themselves in the drivers seat after a 4-1 win. Christian Dvroak, Taylor Hall and Conor Garland scored for the Coyotes and Carl Soderberg added an empty-net goal. Viktor Arvidsson scored the lone tally for the Predators.

Darcy Kuemper was the first star of the game with 39 saves. Arizona coach Rick Tocchet called it a terrific performance.

The turning point might have come when the Predators thought they had a 2-1 lead 1:13 into the third period but the goal was overturned when it was ruled Kyle Turris was offside with Nashville center Matt Duchene.

Game 4 is Friday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
