Game Notes:

Soon-to-be star defenseman Cale Makar scored early and that was all the Colorado Avalanche needed. 30-year-old goaltender Pavel Francouz recorded a shutout in his postseason debut and the Colorado Avalanche breezed past the Stars in a 4-0 round-robin lashing. Out-shooting the Stars 40-27 and capitalizing on a couple of power-play chances, this wasn’t much of a contest.

Joonas Donskoi, Vladislav Namestnikov and Andre Burakovsky also scored as the Avalanche improved to 2-0 in the three-game round that will determine playoff seeding.

Defenseman John Klingberg didn’t play for Dallas, nor did goaltender Ben Bishop who was declared unfit to play.
