Elliotte Friedman is reporting that Nate Thompson has been traded to the Philadelphia Flyers for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick.
Pierre LeBrun said the Flyers were in on Pageau and missed out get Thompson, who was in their plans as a backup. In 63 games, Thompson has four goals and 14 points. Clearly, he wasn’t in the same range as Pageau but the Flyers didn’t want to sit on the sidelines and Thompson didn’t come at a high cost.
This will be a considered a solid move by the Flyers. He’ll by provide veteran depth, is good on the penalty kill and is very well liked and respected among his peers around the league.
