Dallas Stars and Pittsburgh Penguins Make Minor Trade

The Dallas Stars have acquired forward Oula Palve from the Penguins in exchange for defenseman John Nyberg.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are rumored to be one of the busier teams heading into this season’s NHL Trade Deadline and it appears they’ve already started to set the table for what might be a hectic couple of weeks.

They, along with the Dallas Stars have pulled off a minor trade on Friday as the Dallas Stars have acquired forward Oula Palve from the Penguins in exchange for defenseman John Nyberg.

Neither player has spent time in the NHL and it is expected both will report to the respective AHL affiliate teams. Nyberg has two goals and six points in 19 AHL games with Texas this season. Oula, he eight points in 37 AHL contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Again, this is a small trade that likely won’t have much impact on the rest of the trades that follow before February 24th but sometimes you have to get your feet wet before you’re ready to make the bigger moves.
