The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired forward Brandon Pirri from the Las Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for forward Dylan Sikura.

The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired forward Brandon Pirri from the Las Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for forward Dylan Sikura. The deal is relatively minor in terms of the grand scale of some of the trades expected over the next two weeks but this trade could be the precursor to other moves for both organizations.

Last season Brandon Pirri, 29, made just 16 appearances for the Golden Knights and had no goals and two assists. He spent the majority of his season in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a member of the Chicago Wolves. There he played in 38 games and recorded 15 goals and 20 assists.

Sikura, 25 was a fixture in the AHL. He made 45 appearances for the Rockford IceHogs and scored 14 goals and 19 assists.

With this deal, the tradition of Chicago trading for former players continues.
